The Autumn Graduation for 2025 took place in April, with various sessions dedicated to different faculties. The Spring Graduation is usually held in September/October, and includes celebrations for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students.

Ceremony Dates and Locations

The Autumn Graduation for 2025 took place as follows:

George Campus: Graduation ceremonies were held on Friday, 4 April 2025, for students from the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering, the Built Environment, and Technology.
Gqeberha Campus: Ceremonies were held between Saturday, 11 April and Friday, 24 April 2025, with multiple sessions across various faculties, including Engineering, the Built Environment and Technology, Health Sciences, Business and Economic Sciences, and Science.

A total of 6,208 graduates participated in the Autumn 2025 ceremonies, including 235 master’s and 37 doctoral graduates.

How the Ceremony Works

The graduation ceremonies are conducted in a hybrid format. While students and their families can attend in person, the ceremonies are also streamed online to ensure that everyone can be part of the celebration, regardless of their location. Graduates can invite their families to join them in person, but those unable to attend can still watch the proceedings through NMU’s YouTube channel.
