‘Thank you to everyone’ – Abdul Khoza bids farewell to acting

South African actor Abdul Khoza has shocked fans after announcing that he is stepping away from acting.
In an unfeigned post shared on social media, Khoza reflected on his journey and offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse of one of his final auditions.
“So I decided to share one of my last auditions that I did this year before I decided to simply quit acting,” he revealed.
The actor, known for his standout performances in productions like Isibaya and The Wife, shared the video to encourage aspiring actors and demystify the audition process.
“This is a way for me to show those who still wish to pursue a career in acting that we all go through the audition processes,” he wrote. “For an actor to get a role they are required to audition, and this is my last self-tape. I hope that it gives you a better understanding of the process and how we do it.”
In a moving gesture of gratitude, Khoza thanked fans and industry supporters who had supported him throughout his career.
“Thank you to everyone who ever supported my journey as an actor. I am honoured to have been able to share my talents with you. I would have never known my own talent without you.”
While Khoza did not elaborate on what led to his decision to quit acting, his post was met with an outpouring of support and appreciation from fans and fellow actors alike, many of whom praised him for the legacy he leaves behind.
Abdul’s brother SK Khoza, commented with a cryptic message, insinuating that he is also stepping away from acting.
“Giving you a standing ovation👏what matters sunno is that we arrived, served and concured all the roles we played…As we take a bow, we know what it is that we are doing,” he wrote. “Many will never understand our decision, but matters is that we fully understand😉 Onwards and upwards King.”
