Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel admits that he has not been impressed with how his debut season has panned out even if they beat Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final this coming weekend.
Miguel is about to finish his first season at Chiefs, and somehow Amakhosi find themselves fighting for the top eight spot after securing 30 points in 26 games. The former Petro de Luanda defender has played 26 games in all competitions and scored four goals, three of them in the Nedbank Cup.
The 29-year-old explained that he is not happy with his first season at Chiefs as he likes to challenge himself, and he believes he can turn things around starting this weekend against Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final.
“My mission was not to come here and be a top goalscorer or be the best defender. My mission when I came to Chiefs was to bring glory days to the team, and I failed,” Miguel told the media.
“I have to be honest with myself to make a self-conscious evaluation about my season that I didn’t do the job done. But this is football, we have another chance next season.

“We have to think about what we’ve done wrong, what we can do better but I’m not happy with my season, I’m not happy with the achievements that I made with the club even if we are in the final of cause if we win the final we will get a boast to go on vacation and be more relaxed even like that I can’t be happy with my season.
“The things that I have done personally, I’m a person that put pressure on myself to do my best and I think in some games I should’ve done better but this is football, this is all about learning, I learn about my mistake I will try to fix them and do better next season, not next season because we have an important game next weekend so I will start from there.”
