Music legend Diana Ross made a breathtaking return to the Met Gala on 5 May 2025, marking her first appearance at the prestigious event in over 20 years.
The 81-year-old icon truly shut down the blue carpet at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The legendary singer dazzled guests with an 18-foot-long, crystal-embellished white gown that was nothing short of spectacular.
Diana Ross’s gown, designed in collaboration with Nigerian designer Ugo Mozie and her son Evan Ross, was the star of the night.
The floor-grazing dress featured a dramatic feather-boa-trimmed cape with a towering, wide-brimmed white hat adorned with feathers.

It perfectly complemented her signature voluminous curls. The massive train, which nearly covered the entire staircase, required six helpers to carry it up the steps, according to E News.
Yet, as Ross quipped, “When you’re one of the world’s definitive divas, that’s the least a couple of men can do!”
The heartfelt detail embroidered beneath the train made the gown even more special. She stitched in the names of her five children-Rhonda, Tracee, Chudney, Ross, and Evan-and her eight grandchildren.
This personal touch celebrated her family legacy and added a deeply emotional layer to the stunning ensemble.
RETURN TO THE MET GALA
Diana Ross’s return to the Met Gala was inspired by the event’s theme, ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.’ It honours Black dandyism and celebrates Black excellence in fashion.
The singer’s presence alongside her son Evan, who also wore a design by Mozie’s luxury brand Eleven Sixteen.
The attendance of her daughter Tracee Ellis Ross made the evening a memorable family affair.
DIANA ROSS’ U.K. TOUR
Reflecting on her return, Diana Ross revealed to Vogue’s La La Anthony that she almost didn’t attend due to her busy tour schedule.
“My son persuaded me, ‘cause I’m actually on tour,” she shared. “I’m never going to retire-they’re going to have to drag me off the stage!”
The music icon is set to tour the UK and Europe soon, much to the delight of her fans worldwide.
