South Africa junior international Shandre Campbell won his first major trophy with Club Brugge after less than six months since he gained promotion to the senior team.
Campbell was promoted early in February after an outstanding season with the Brugge reserve side Club NXT after scoring nine goals with two assists.
The 19-year-old missed the AFCON U20 that is currently playing in Egypt after Brugge decided not to let him go as they felt they needed him the most.
The former SuperSport United winger was on the bench when Brugge beat RSC Anderlecht 2-1 to win Belgian Cup on Sunday for a record 12th time. This was Brugge’s first final since 2019/20 as they won it for the first time since 2014/25 season.
Brugge currently sits second in the Belgium Pro League with 46 points just one point behind Royale Union Saint-Gilloise with three games remaining before the season comes to an end.
