ADvTECH invites graduates to apply for Psychologist Internships in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

This internship is designed to provide comprehensive, supervised practical experience in alignment with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) guidelines. Interns will gain critical exposure in mental health support, student counselling, assessments, and wellness promotion within ADvTECH schools.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one counselling to learners
• Conduct psychoeducational assessments
• Assist with crisis management and intervention strategies
• Collaborate with school-based support teams
• Design and facilitate mental health workshops
• Maintain case records and submit monthly reports
• Attend supervision sessions and case conferences
• Participate in school holiday programmes

Minimum Requirements

(Only applicants meeting these criteria will be considered):

• Master’s degree in Educational Psychology or Counselling Psychology
• Eligible for HPCSA Intern Registration
• Proof of HPCSA eligibility letter or current intern registration
• Strong ethics, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to student well-being
• Effective time management and administrative capabilities
• Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning

Skills & Competencies

• Experience in psychological models and practices
• Ability to engage with diverse student populations and staff
• Capable of presenting and coordinating wellness workshops
• Familiarity with school-based support and intervention frameworks
