Blue Economy Learnerships – x6 Posts
Who Can Apply?
- South African citizens aged 18–35 years
- Residents of Port Nolloth and surrounding areas in the Richtersveld Local Municipality
- Minimum qualification: Grade 10, 11, or 12 (Matric)
- Must be willing to work outdoors and in physically demanding environments
- Strong interest in marine conservation, sustainability, and community development
Preferred (Not Required)
- Qualification in marine or environmental studies
- Experience in fishing or marine-related work
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in operations at a local fishing cooperative
- Engage in wild kelp harvesting, line fish processing, data collection, and administration
- Participate in training workshops on conservation and fisheries management
- Learn about cooperative governance, marketing, and financial management
