Eligibility Criteria
Before you begin your application, make sure you meet the following eligibility requirements:
- South African Citizenship or Permanent Residency: You must be a South African citizen or have permanent residency status in South Africa.
- Postgraduate Study Enrollment: You must be enrolled in a full-time Postgraduate programme in Film or TV, not available in South Africa. The course must commence in September or October 2025.
- Accredited Overseas Institution: You need to be accepted at an accredited overseas tertiary institution.
- Academic Record: A strong academic record is essential.
- Financial Need: Proof of financial need is required.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted online via the NFVF application portal. To apply, follow these steps:
- Create an Account: Register on the NFVF bursary portal before you can submit your application.
- Complete the Online Application: Once registered, log in and fill out the application form.
- Include Supporting Documents: Submit clear copies of the following documents (make sure all documents are certified):
- ID Document or Proof of Permanent Residence.

- Proof of Enrollment at the international institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
