Website N3 Toll Concession
On 2 November 1999, N3 Toll Concession (RF) Proprietary Limited (N3TC) entered into a 30-year toll road concession contract with the South African National Roads Agency (SOC) Limited (SANRAL) to manage a 415 km section of the N3 transport corridor known as the N3 Toll Route.
The N3TC Bursary is available for students pursuing undergraduate degree studies in the following fields:
- Accounting
- Civil Engineering
- Information Technology
- Marketing
- Mathematics and Science
- Teaching
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the N3TC Bursary, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must reside in one of the following local municipal areas along the N3 Toll Route corridor:
- Free State: Mafube, Maluti-a-Phofung, Phumelela
- Gauteng: Lesedi
- KwaZulu-Natal: Alfred Duma, iNkosi Langalibalele, Mpofana, Okhahlamba, uMngeni
- Mpumalanga: Dipaleseng
- Must have completed Matric
- Must be studying towards an undergraduate degree qualification in one of the specified fields
- Must be entering their 3rd, 4th, or Honours year of study in 2025
- Must be studying at a recognized and accredited university in South Africa
- Must have a strong academic record
- Must have achieved and be able to maintain a minimum overall average of 60%
- Must have proven financial need
- Must not have any outstanding university fees
Bursary Coverage
The N3TC Bursary provides funding for:
- Tuition fees
- Mandatory textbooks
Additional study expenses (such as accommodation) may be covered at the discretion of N3TC. Bursaries are awarded for one academic year at a time, with extensions based on performance and N3TC’s discretion.

Step 2: Prepare Required Documents
Applicants must submit clear copies of the following supporting documents:
- Certified copy of ID document
- Certified copy of full academic record
- Proof of university admission/provisional admission (on institution’s letterhead)
- Proof of residence
- Current fee statement reflecting fees and payments for prior years
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Two reference letters from current university lecturers
- If disabled: Doctor’s note confirming disability (certified copy)
